College Persistence and Completion Initiative

Providing Academic and Nonacademic Support Services

With the goal to increase student persistence and completion in post secondary colleges, we are pleased to partner with businesses to develop new ways to provide academic and nonacademic support services through the support of local business partnerships.

Provision of
direct support

Our partners collaborate with local service agencies to help support students through nonacademic challenges, however these agencies do not always have funding available, and frequently have restrictions on who they can support, and the requirements to be eligible for support, or the process to acquire needed support is too lengthy to truly help.

Academic Support

We work with national, regional and local organizations and businesses through Tuition Assistance Programs, Sectorial and Innovative training opportunities in metropolitan and rural communities. Although we work in cohesion with State and Community Colleges, our clients are private businesses, site selectors, apprenticeships, private sector and for-profit colleges.

Believe in your potential

You'll be surprised at what we can do.

Disbursement from Funders

Philanthropic funding sources who wish to support training programs in private or for-profit education institutions will be able to do so in partnership with Florida Growth Alliance or National Growth Alliance. FGA does not charge donors a management or processing fee. FGA holds agreements with programs approved by the Department of Education, Commission of Independent Education, and accredited training providers. Once the eligibility to fund is identified the funding support will be paid directly to the determined billing recipient or as a gas/grocery card to ensure adequate reporting and documentation is available for monthly and annual recording and reporting of the funding.

College readiness or
student success courses

These classes provide students with skills for success in college, such as how to manage their time, study efficiently, take tests optimally, and to get assistance when they need it. These are sometimes targeted to certain groups, such as first-generation students or older students who have been away from the classroom environment.

Administration

Local campus Executive Directors with access to accounts for these funds to be deposited to, and management of the disbursement process and funds will be identified with a campus level collaborative approach of student services, and eligibility will be based on the funding partner’s criteria and limitations.

Academic and Nonacademic Support Services

Acceptance of support will be documented and agreed upon by the student so information sharing to the funder for reporting and tracking purposes can include name, paid to, summary of need, program major, zip code, and anticipated graduation date. We believe student graduation rates and Employment rates will see improvements under this program.
If additional information is needed by funding partners, it will be provided as eligible and agreed upon.
